Sus abuelos cumplían sus bodas de oro y querían darle un mejor aspecto a su ya estropeado álbum de fotos

Some weeks ago, my friend Lidia, from Miss Sweety blog, asked me for a special favour.

Her grandparents were going to celebrate 50 years married and she wanted to give a better look to their damaged photo album.

Encuadernando con Pablo - Binding with Pablo

Hola!

Hoy os quiero hablar de la nueva actividad que me tiene enamorada.

Como sabéis, hace poco aprendí cartonaje. Y, debido a que la mayoría de los materiales que se usan son materiales de encuadernación, me picó la curiosidad.

Así que estuve buscando algún encuadernador que me diera clases de encuadernación.

Encontré el taller de Pablo y fui a conocerlo. 

Desde ese primer momento me tiene enganchada y casi no pienso en otra cosa debido al abanico de posibilidades que, de nuevo, se abre ante mí.

Reconozco que me encanta aprender y no sabía cuánto me gusta hasta ahora que, no dejo de buscar información sobre todo lo que cae en mis manos, hablando en general.

Today I want to talk about the new activity that makes me be in love with.

As you know, I learnt to do cartonnage some time ago. And, because the mayority of the materials, they use, are from binding, I had curiosity.

So that I was looking for some binder in order to learn bookbinding.

I found Pablo's workshop and I went to know it.

From that first moment I was hooked and I don't almost think of anything else because the range of possibilities is opened in front of me again.

I recognize I love learning and I didn't know how much I like until now, because I don't stop looking information about everything I'm getting, talking in general.

Como sabéis de una entrada anterior, estos papeles con los que he decorado los libros los he pintado yo.

Y, como podéis ver, los dos libros tienen acabados diferentes. El amarillo tiene el lomo redondo y el borde de las páginas lisas y el rojo tiene el lomo plano y el borde de las páginas es irregular.

Poco a poco seguiré enseñando más cosas que he aprendido.

As you know, I have decorated the books with these pieces of paper that I painted.

And, as you can see, the two books have different finishes. The yellow one has the round spine and flat pages edge; and, the red one has the flat spine and irregular pages edge.

Step by step I'll follow showing more things that I have learnt.

Álbum y caja en cartonaje - Album and box (cartonnage)

Hola otra vez!

Hoy os quería enseñar lo que he aprendido con Tere, una gran persona tanto profesionalmente como humanamente hablando.

Tuve la gran suerte de realizar este curso de cartonaje con un grupo de amigas que os presentaré más adelante.

Pero no me enrollo más que una imagen vale más de mil palabras y estoy emocionada con el resultado que obtuvimos... simplemente impresionante :o

Today I wanted to show you what I have learned from Tere, a great person as professionally as human.

I was lucky to do this cartonnage course with a group of female friends who I will introduce later.

But one image is worth more than one thousand of words and I am excited with the result we got... simply awesome :o

 

 

 

   

 

Y aquí estoy con mis compañeras, Mari Pepa, Carmen, Mª Jesús y una servidora (de izquierda a derecha).

Me gustaría desde aquí volver a darle las gracias a Mª Jesús, que es la que se encargó de coordinarnos a todas, y agradecer de nuevo a Tere de Manualidades El Taller de Tere por enseñarnos con tanto cariño y paciencia. Estoy supercontenta.

Tutorial de portanotas - How to do a notesholder

Hoy os muestro paso a paso cómo hacer un portanotas.
Espero que disfrutéis y os animéis a hacerlo.
Primero, quiero que veáis el resultado final:

Today I'll show you how to do a notesholder step by step.
I hope you enjoy and cheer yourself up doing it.
First, I want you to see the result:

Y éste sería el resultado si incluímos nuestras notas:
And, this would be the result if we add our notes:




Comenzamos desde el principio... Tras medir nuestro taco de notas añadimos unos milímetros, ya que nuestro material tiene un grosor y debemos añadir también el papel con el que lo forraremos. Es decir, debemos dejar sitio para lo que queremos introducir.
Asimismo, deberemos acortar las partes delantera y trasera, ya que quedarán en la zona interior.
Let´s start from the beginning... After measuring our collection of notes we add some millimeters, because our cardboard is thick and we also have to add a piece of paper in order to wrap it up. In other words, we should leave space for what we want it to hold.
We should reduce the front and back side also because they will place between the left and right side.



De izquierda a derecha: el suelo, lado izquierdo, lado derecho, lado posterior y parte delantera
From left to right: floor, left side, right side, back side and front side

Pegamos cada una en su lugar y, quedaría justo así:
We stick each piece on its place like this:

Ahora forramos este portanotas empezando por el exterior.
We wrap this notesholder up starting from its outside.

Y, una vez hemos terminado el exterior, forramos el interior.
And once we have finished outside, we wrap the inside up.

Aquí tenéis otro ejemplo de iguales medidas pero con otro papel. Su aspecto es totalmente diferente. Como podéis observar el toque final es cortar a modo de plataforma una base y forrarla.
Here you have another example. It measures the same but we sticked other piece of paper. It looks like totally different. As you can see we have cut other piece else as a platform or a bigger base and we have wrapped it up and stick.
